Position Summary

The HR Coordinator will assist the People Services team with short-term projects. This individual may also help with new hire onboarding/orientation or responding to employee questions as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include

    • Digitize hard copies of Form I-9 and related documents; save the files in accordance with Apellis’ electronic employee records practice
    • Update organization structure of electronic employee records as directed by the People Services team
    • Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment details
    • Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner
    • Assist with new hire onboarding and/or orientation if needed
    • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Registration & Certification

    • BS/BA is preferred

 

Experience

    • 1+ year of relevant experience in a human resources or generalist role

 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

    • Knowledge of relevant systems
    • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgement
    • Demonstrated skills in project management
    • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
    • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
    • Highly organized, results driven, problem solver
    • Superior written and oral communication skills

 

Physical Demands And Work Environment

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel Requirements

    • Expected commuting to the Company’s headquarters in Waltham, MA
