We currently have a great opportunity for a Communication Manager (Human Resources). The HR Communications Manager is responsible for leading communication planning and execution for large programs and portfolios of work for Envision Healthcare. The role requires an advanced understanding for human resources and will work closely with the Envision HR team as a business partner. The position reports to the Internal Communications Director and is a hands-on position, where success includes "rolling up your sleeves" to drive the desired results. Candidates must possess strong writing and editing skills, as well as proven experience in internal communications and project management.


  • Assist the Internal Communications Director to develop, deliver, and maintain an HR communication strategy and approach that executes on the business goals and desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to develop effective communication strategies that improve employee engagement and align HR messaging with company vision.
  • Build strong relationships with and influence HR business unit/department leaders to set the vision and direction of HR communication.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across communication platforms and programs (internal and external).
  • Think big picture but execute tactically and manage the details.
  • Measure and analyze the use and effectiveness of communication efforts and provide recommendations for optimizing results.
  • Establish proactive mechanisms for audience feedback and adjust communication strategies and content based on that input.
  • Monitor and manage the most relevant topics and trends within the company that impact teammates, our culture, or our company's vision.
  • Cultivate a communications culture for HR which promotes strategic thinking using evidence-based strategies and advocacy.
  • Lead and develop new HR communication initiatives and tools; oversee the ongoing renewal and update of the organization's website and other communication channels.
  • Support crisis communications when needed to communicate to teammates.
  • Reads and abides by the company's code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.
  • Reports any real or suspected violation of the corporate compliance program, company policies and procedures, harassment or other prohibited activities in accordance with the reporting policies of the company.
  • Obtains clarification of policy whenever necessary and may use the resources available through the Compliance, Human Resources or Legal Department to do so.
  • Responsible for adhering to Information Security Policies and ensuring Envision is as secure as possible.


  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of employee total rewards, talent acquisition, employee branding, and other human resource programs
  • Ability to succinctly convey complex messages that are professional, consistent and support company vision and brand position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a diverse, matrixed team to ensure messaging and programs are delivered quickly, consistently and powerfully across multiple channels and locations.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to navigate large, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Ability to create strong, strategic business relationships and solicit/act on partner feedback
  • Executive presence and the ability to coach HR leadership on effective strategic communication
  • Ability and flexibility in managing multiple projects at a time as well as just-in-time issues to drive the work forward.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidential information appropriately and exercise good judgment when communicating.
  • Knowledge of integrated health care a plus.
  • Proven comfort with Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and knowledge of common collaborative tools/platforms (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)


  • BA in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
  • 5-7 years of corporate communications or public relations experience
