HR Compliance Department of a growing nationwide HR Assistance company located in Elmwood Park is seeking an HR self-starter who can work independently on a variety of HR activities. 

Knowledge of the laws and strong experience in the administration process associated with:    

  • FMLA
  • ADA
  • Disability
  • Unemployment
  • Maternity/Paternity Leaves
  • Paid Family Leaves
  • Earned Sick Leave

Other requirements include:

  • Proven experience in responding to client questions as they relate to HR concerns and handling employee relations, investigatory and documentation requirements from start through resolution.
  • Proven experience addressing disciplinary action concerns and implementing documentation procedures.
  • Ability to conduct full-service onboarding activities, i.e, conducting orientations and assisting with the completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Experience handling recruiting activities.

The incumbent of this position will be responsible for independently handling HR activities for several of our clients.  Must be able to identify issues that require escalation to the Director of HR. 

The optimal fit must have:

  • Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to learn HRIS software.
  • Ability to successfully work independently and remotely, which includes working with a remote point of contact.
  • Transportation to travel to client offices if needed.
  • Dedication, motivation and ensure quality in their performance results.

The position is considered 1099 – approximately 22.5 hours per week.  However, based on business needs, there may be an option for full-time employment for successful candidates in the future.

The position reports to the Director of HR and Compliance Services.
