We have an immediate need for a Temporary Human Resources Specialist with recent Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) and Workforce Transformation Tracking System (WTTS) experience to support our client, The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Inspector General (ED-OIG), Office of Human Resources. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational HR services directly to the HR Director and specialists in the areas of areas of recruitment, staffing, placement, position classification, position management, and compensation.
THIS IS A REMOTE POSITION.
3 to 4 Months with a Possible extension to 1 year
Code and ensures accuracy of all personnel actions. Researches and analyzes specifics of individual situations, inputs data into the HR processing system(s) and forwards actions to HR Specialist(s) for review and approval.
Builds positions for new/revised position descriptions (PDs) and ensures that the PD coversheet (OF8) is complete and properly documented.
Drafts/ensures proper completion of supporting documentation for HR actions
Coordinates with the Benefits branch in relation to benefits forms/information.
Coordinates clearing and processing actions through the Interior Business Center (IBC). Provides technical assistance and recommendations and serves as a point of contact for Interior Business Center (IBC)/Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) processing and FPPS error reports. Coordinates with systems help desks to resolve complex system errors and issues.
Assists with the completion of appointment forms, providing information/guidance as necessary and referring more complicated questions/issues to the appropriate Specialist. Ensure that employment forms are routed for processing, and uploads appointment paperwork to the employee's eOPF. Reviews and calculates service calculation dates; when re-computation is needed.
" />Knowledge of Federal human resources regulations, principles, policies, rules and terminology to research, analyze and organize facts related to a variety of situations, respond to a variety of HR-related inquiries, resolve technical discrepancies and provide advice/make recommendations in support of one or more HR specialist area(s) or program(s).
Knowledge of standardized personnel coding and processing procedures to manage the appropriate disposition of personnel forms and related documentation.
Extensive knowledge of HR systems including FPPS and Workforce Transformation Tracking System (WTTS) in order to affect the full range of personnel/payroll actions, troubleshoot processing errors and suspense issues, create/generate reports upon request.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
