The HR Generalist is responsible for onboarding of new hires and independent contractors, managing HRIS system changes, assisting in management of HR programs, handling immigration process and developing internal employee communications for all Focal Point employees.  The position requires someone with excellent organization skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with employees. The Generalist will act as the primary point of contact for onboarding and general HR inquiries. Various responsibilities include conducting orientation, assisting with the New Hire Grad Program, updating changes to HRIS system, overseeing immigration process, management of employee communications including newsletter and employee portal information.     

Responsibilities

  • Performs customer service functions by assisting employees with requests and questions about onboarding, general HR, and employee programs
  • The Company’s Subject Matter Expert as it relates to onboarding, HR processes, programs and initiatives.  
  • Prepares and manages the onboarding for all new employees and independent contractors, responsibilities include initiates online background screen, collects new hire information and paperwork, oversees E-verify process, notifies departments about new hire coordinating setup in all systems, creates new hire and contractor files, and launches onboarding for new hire in the HRIS system. 
  • Conducts semi-monthly new employee orientation making necessary updates as applicable to orientation presentations and videos trainings and company portal. 
  • Assist in the management of the New Hire Graduation Program including leading meetings, collecting information and feedback, being a support resource for participants and communicating necessary tasks and information.  
  • Responsible for all employee updates in HRIS system data entry of supervisor and/or department changes, promotions and increases. Communicating changes to payroll team and other HR members.  
  • Assist HR Director in management of EEO and Affirmative Action initiatives and programs.
  • Supports Benefits person with month close benefit reconciliation.    
  • Collaborates with other HR team members on continued process improvements.  
  • Updates employee data in various reports and systems as needed
  • Works on various HR and Payroll reports and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4+ years basic Human Resource onboarding
  • 4+ years HR Generalist experience
  • Experience working with remote employees at multiple locations
  • Experience with various HR laws, rules, and regulations 
  • Experience in HRIS systems (Paylocity, Workday, Paycom, ADP, Ceridian, Kronos, Paycor)
